Thomas Babe has written a number of plays, including KID CHAMPION, REBEL WOMEN, FATHERS & SONS, A PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER, TAKEN IN MARRIAGE, BILLY IRISH, SALT LAKE CITY SKYLINE, and BURIED INSIDE EXTRA (all produced by Joseph Papp and the New York Shakespeare Festival), and JUNK BONDS (Denver Theater Center). GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING, were premiered in California. He has received grants from the Guggenheim, Rockefeller, and C B S foundations, and the National Endowment for the Arts, on whose playwriting panel he later served for three years. He also has written for radio, film, and television, and for the last ten years has taught playwriting at New York University.
