Anthony Clarvoe's plays AMBITION FACING WEST (which premiered at Trinity Repertory Company in 1997), GHOSTS (translated from Ibsen, Intiman Theatre, 1996), THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV (based on the Dostoevsky novel, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, 1995), THE LIVING (Denver Center Theatre, 1993), LET'S PLAY TWO (South Coast Repertory, 1992), SHOW AND TELL (Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, 1992), and PICK UP AX (San Francisco's Eureka Theatre Company, 1990) are performed throughout the United States. They have received drama critics' awards in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and elsewhere. Mr Clarvoe has received fellowships and grants from the John Simon Guggenheim, W Alton Jones, McKnight, Jerome, and Berrilla Kerr Foundations, the Fund for New American Plays, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He was born in San Francisco and lives in New York City and the Midwest.
