GEECH...THE MOOSICAL

Book and lyrics by Jerry Bittle
music by Angelo Badalamenti

This musical is based on Jerry Bittle's popular comic strip GEECH, distributed by Universal Press Syndicate. Out of the hilarious small-town goings-on of Grimace, Texas gallops (or trots) America's funniest new musical, GEECH. Based upon the popular down-home comic strip, which appears in more than 160 newspapers throughout the country, GEECH looks in on gas pump jockeys Merle and Geech, hell-raisers Ruby and Nadine, out-of-place city slicker Artie, the misanthropic pool hall operator Rabbit, and the whole GEECH gang. The musical fun never stops, thanks to cartoonist-author Bittle's hilarious book; and composer Angelo Badalamenti's "Broadway-Country" score that keeps toes tapping and audiences clapping for more. Badalamenti has written the scores for many films, including BLUE VELVET, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for his score to TWIN PEAKS.

"Bittle is generous with the humor that has made the strip so popular, and the laughs flow steadily throughout. The smalltown flavor readily emerges in ... Monday, I'm In Love With the Marlboro Man, and I'm the Number One Horse's Ass. The pace is lively throughout. The musical...is one of those that is over before you know it.... ideal for small theaters," Variety
