Louis Philllips is a widely published poet,
playwright, and short story author. His published full length plays include THE
ENVOI MESSAGES, THE BALLROOM IN ST PATRICK'S CATHEDRAL, and SIXTEEN POINTS ON A
HURRICANE'S COMPASS, plus FRANKENSTEIN VIRTUOSO and KOPS.
His full-length plays have been performed in New York City and in regional theatres. The Colonnades Theater Lab, under the direction of Michael Lessac, produced WABECK and THE BALLROOM IN ST PATRICK'S CATHEDRAL. Indiana Rep produced THE ENVOI MESSAGES, directed by Ed Stern; and the Old Globe Theater in San Diego produced THE LAST OF THE MARX BROTHERS' WRITERS, directed by Craig Noel and starring Victor Bono. Alan Schneider directed Mr Phillips' play THE GREAT AMERICAN QUIZ SHOW SCANDAL at the University of California at San Diego.
In addition, Mr Phillips has written over thirty one-act plays. His one-acts have been published in The Georgia Review, Massachusetts Review, Nassau Review, Aethlon, and many other literary magazines. His one-act plays GOIN' WEST was inclduded in THE BEST SHORT PLAYS '87. THE MAN WHO ATE EINSTEIN'S BRAIN, produced by Roger Simon, has been performed in N Y C and broadcast on radio.
He currently lives in Manhattan with his wife Pat Ranard and their twin sons Ian and Matthew.
